For our pharmaceutical client based in Kaiseraugst, we are looking for a medical practice assistant (MPA) to care for and treat patients during consultation hours.

Background:

The medical services of Hoffmann-La Roche AG are the independent medical center of excellence for all employees, offering preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services. This includes our outpatient clinics and emergency care for acute illnesses and accidents, as well as comprehensive occupational health services. Furthermore, the medical services offer confidential medical consultations for private or work-related problems, as well as for questions concerning personal and workplace health maintenance and individual health literacy.

The ideal candidate has a completed vocational training as a Medical Practice Assistant (EFZ) and two years of professional experience in this field. They possess strong technical skills and experience in emergency medicine. Furthermore, they hold a certificate for X-rays of extremities and the thorax. Excellent German and English skills complete the profile. Finally, proficiency in practice management software is required.

Main tasks and areas of responsibility:

• Care, non-medical and physician-assisted treatment of patients in the open setting
• Consultation (Outpatient Clinic)
• Therapeutic measures, such as wound care and vaccinations, as well as assistance with minor surgical procedures and ear irrigations.
• Physical applications, such as radar therapy, therapeutic ultrasound
• Performing blood draws and preparing and administering infusions
• Diagnostic examinations (spirometry, ECG, blood pressure measurement, otoscopy)
• Performing emergency laboratory tests to determine troponin, myoglobin, and D-dimer levels.
• Rapid pregnancy test, blood glucose test strips, Strep A swabs, uterine test strips
• Taking X-rays of the extremities and thorax
• Documentation in the electronic medical record

Must Haves:

• Vocational training with a qualification as a Medical Practice Assistant (EFZ)
• Minimum 2 years, ideally several years of professional experience
• Good computer skills and a good technical understanding, and a willingness to learn new software solutions.
• X-ray of extremities and thorax
• Good German and English skills
• Enjoyment in contributing new ideas and representing them with conviction, skill and sensitivity.
• Teamwork skills, empathetic and flexible working styleNice to have:
