The Institute of Medical Genetics at the University of Zürich is looking for a research technician (50%) to provide core support to our Postdoc research team.
- Produce, maintain, and characterize human induced-pluripotent cells (iPSCs)
- Assist with gene editing of iPSCs (CRISPR/Cas9)
- Assist with differentiation of iPSCs into neurons
- Assist with experiments in Zebrafish
- Standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques, including DNA and RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, Sanger sequencing, cloning, Western Blot, ELISA, immunostainings, use of confocal microscope etc.
- Help with maintenance of lab supplies and equipment when needed
- Occasionally, a few hours of weekend work might be required for cell culture experiments.
Ideally, you have a "Laborant/in" degree or a Bachelor/Master degree in biology or a related topic. We are looking for somebody with good technical expertise in molecular and cell biology techniques (at least 1-2 years of experience) who genuinely enjoys challenging cell culture work and has overall a great sense of responsibility.
A good command of English is required (German is definitely a plus).
