Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Core Facility (iPSCore) and Tissue Engineering at IREM
The Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IREM) combines cutting-edge stem cell and bioengineering research to advance regenerative therapies. Within this environment, the iPSCore provides expertise in the generation and differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), supporting both basic and translational research. In close collaboration, the Cell & Tissue Engineering group develops innovative biomaterials, engineered tissues, and translational platforms to model disease and explore novel therapeutic strategies. The advertised position will be embedded in both units, offering a unique opportunity to work at the interface of stem cell biology and tissue engineering in a highly interdisciplinary team.

Your responsibilities

  • Managing a functional laboratory (inventory control of consumables, ordering, maintenance of equipment)
  • Create and manage laboratory databases and documentation
  • Take responsibility for projects and apply basic molecular biology methods (PCR, DNA and RNA preparation, cloning, western blot, histology).
  • Perform advanced cell culture work, including maintenance and differentiation of stem cells
  • Contribute to Tissue Engineering projects
  • Conduct CRISPR/CAS9-mediated gene editing
  • Preparation of lentivirus and generation of high-titer lentiviral preps

Your profile

  • Qualification as BTA/MTA or MSc in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or any other relevant discipline
  • Minimum of three years' work experience in a research-intensive lab
  • Strong hands-on experience in cell culture work (especially stem cells) and molecular biological techniques
  • Ability to draft reports and maintain accurate laboratory records
  • Good English skills, both oral and written
  • High motivation to learn new techniques and tools, combined with organizational skills, reliability, and precision
  • Ability to manage priorities, work both independently and in a team, and demonstrate commitment and responsibility
  • Preferred: Experience with CRISPR/CAS9 experience, organoid technologies and tissue engineering
