Intern Process Chemist Support R&D (100%)

Zeochem, founded in 1818, is a quality-oriented Swiss company with locations throughout the world. Zeochem has a rich history in chemical production and specializes in manufacturing Molecular Sieves, Specialty Zeolites, Deuterium and Labelled Compounds. We strive to provide excellent, responsive service, consistent and high-quality products and are one of the few actual producers worldwide of deuterium labelled compounds. You will be part of our R&D and Product Management Team and support production of deuterated molecules.

We are looking for a process engineering- or chemistry student or recent graduate with a strong background in thermal separation processes and chemical engineering at our headquarters in Rüti (ZH). This internship offers the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both lab scale and bulk chemical production, separation processes and process optimizations.

Key responsibilities

· Process development of continuous production processes
both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysed

· R&D development and optimization of separation processes

· Help setup a process data management system

· Support in R&D Projects

· Support in Product Management isotopic labelled compounds for Analytics-, Electronics- and Pharma market

Profile

· Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Process Technology, Chemistry, or a related field

· Strong academic background in continuous synthesis and processing

· Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and proper handling of chemicals

· Familiarity with common analytical techniques (e.g. NMR, GC)

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· English fluent, German fluent is a big plus

Duration

· Minimum 6 – maximum 12 months, 100%
